initial expectations: our "before" rating of the movie, based on other reviews, movie trailers, friends' comments, etc.

pace: is the movie engaging? from "zzzz" to "hold on to your seat!"

plot/story: how contrived is the story? does it have holes and inconsistensies? how real or plausible is it? is it interesting and engaging?

cast/acting: scores high if the actors' emotions and feelings are portrayed dynamically and are believable...and being a "hottie" won't hurt!

cinematography: it's everything that makes a "motion" picture, like scenery, camera angles, special effects...

the good stuff: sex, violence, special effects, wow factor
