initial expectations |
(3) The previews looked utterly creepy. And I get more scared by religious thrillers so I was looking forward to a scream fest. |
(3) The trailers initially looked good, with a little girl having strange powers. But, I started to read reviews, and they started coming in negative. |
pace |
(1) Slow, slow, slow. Wake me up when the kid has saved the world, please! |
(1) Wow. Amazingly slow. Not the slowest I've ever seen, but close enough. As slow as that 2 hour sermon at church. |
plot/story |
(2) It was an interesting concept. But it reminded me too much of The Seventh Sign with Demi Moore. Which, by the way, is way better than this movie. |
(1) No real special thrills or twists. No buildup of any tension. That's because the story was too simplistic and too stupid. |
cast/acting |
(3) Holliston Coleman did an excellent job, Kim Basinger was her usual frazzled self. So their efforts sorta cancel each other out. |
(2) The only thing that saved this from a 1 rating is the antagonist, Rufus Sewell, who played Eric Stark. Cool eyes. Evil look. The other thing that struck me is Kim Basinger's acting. She was terrible, and oh, she's getting kinda old. |
good stuff |
(2) Apart from some superhero-looking devils and some plate dancing, nothing much at all. |
(1) One rolling head and a lot of rats... and you have... um... nothing to get excited about. |
overall |
(2) I would've gladly waited till this movie came out on video. Then I would've watched it alone in my living room at night…Maybe I would've been scared that way. |
(1) This movie is definitely not blessed. Stay away, and wait until it's free. This movie did not meet my initial expectations. |
