initial expectations |
(3) I've gone wary of romantic comedies, especially after the torturous Boys and Girls. So I wasn't expecting much. I pretty much just wanted to see how Mena Suvari pulls off that funky hairstyle. |
(2) I have to agree with Mumu...just the genre itself, teen romantic comedy, had me a little worried. The trailers were funny though. |
pace |
(3) The movie wasn't too slow…but I did get impatient waiting for the inevitable to happen.
|
(4) The pacing was pretty good, but the predictability of the plot made it seem slow at times since you already know what is going to happen. |
plot/story |
(3) My heart broke so many times watching Jason Biggs' character get screwed (not sexually, unfortunately) so many times. His niceness and persistence, in combination with Mena Suvari's character's naivete and cuteness, kept me interested. But let's face it y'all…The plot is as predictable as getting a zit right before a big date. |
(3) The story was solid, though predictable. I especially liked the very end, right before the credits, where the movie takes care to not leave you hanging. |
cast/acting |
(4) Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari did an excellent job of portraying their roles. I felt for them, I really did! |
(5) You can tell Jason Biggs is one talented actor. There was good on-screen chemistry between Biggs and Suvari, with a good supporting performance from the nasty professor, Kinnear. |
good stuff |
(4) If you want a portrayal of a college party you've always wanted to throw or attend, feast your eyes on Loser. Its bashes have them all…from sex, drugs and alcohol to cats and dogs and flea medicine. You'll see what I mean. |
(3) No nudity, no sex, no violence. Just good chemistry between the two potential lovebirds. |
overall |
(3) I wasn't disappointed that I saw the movie. Of course, it helps that I saw a matinee and didn't pay full price. I knew what to expect and I got what I thought I'd get. |
(4) I have to say that I really liked this movie, which is no small feat considering its genre. This is a result of the great acting from Biggs, Suvari, and Kinnear. However, I don't think this movie will be for everyone. This movie exceeded my initial expectations. |
