initial expectations |
(3) I'm not one for slapstick comedy so I wasn't expecting to laugh much. But the movie had so much hype and other people were laughing at its trailers…So why not? And I was right. I didn't laugh much. Twice, to be specific. |
(3) Fun-filled trailers plus a whole cast consisting of Eddie Murphy, a catchy tune by the other lead, Janet Jackson, and the success of the original Nutty Professor...well, let's just say it made me want to go watch the sequel. |
pace |
(3) Animated dialogue and some unforgettable (but not necessarily desirable) scenes made the movie go by. |
(2) Lots of gags, but not like Scary Movie, and certainly not enough to keep me fully engrossed. There were some scenes which were intended to be funny, but the movie could have done without. |
plot/story |
(3) It's predictable. But tolerable. |
(1) What story? Oh, Eddie's numerous characters? That's not a story! And half the time, I couldn't understand what they were saying... |
cast/acting |
(4) Well, I gotta give Eddie Murphy credit for pulling off 6 roles. And all 6 roles were pretty distinct characters. Good job, Bob! And Janet Jackson was decent, too! |
(3) Yep, gotta give Eddie his props for succesfully delivering many distinct characters... well done. |
good stuff |
(3) Like I said, a lot of slapstick and gross humour. For someone who finds that kind of stuff funny, get set for a laugh fest. |
(1) Yawn... Except, ever wonder what bestiality with a big beast is like? |
overall |
(3) It was a good effort to deliver some comedy. I didn't laugh much but at least I laughed at all. |
(1) Save your money to buy the soundtrack instead, which is sure to be better than the movie itself! I espeically likes Janet's song, "Doesn't Really Matter." This movie did not meet my initial expectations. |
